Dr. Jose Rizal

Dr. Rizal: Inday, and hindi marunong magmahal sa sariling wika ay mas masahol pa sa halimaw at malansang isda…

Inday:
Thank you for your wonderful words of wisdom. But don’t you know that I already read all your writings? Unfortunately, I was disappointed because your two novels were written in Spanish and Latin. So, therefore, you are the ultimate violator of your own aphorism.

go girl, spread some nosebleeding news. . .
may point ka din sa mga palusots mo, siguro if Dr. Jose Rizal will read it he will be offended, kasabay ng pagtulo ng mamula-mula likido mula sa dalawang butas ng kanyang ilong.

    kudos!

pagpatuloy mo lang ang walang kamatayang laught trip, at patama, . . .

hanggang dito na lang. . .

Ha, ha. You don’t really mean “violator, do you, Inday? You probably meant “transgressor” or “offender.”

    Metal Munky Says:

    Zaldy,
Oi!
Inday, I firmly believe that you have a point because the man had a record of somewhat transgressing his words when compared with his actions. For the readers, if you’ll remember, in one of his letters to one of his sisters, Rizal advised them to be thrifty but this was different to what he is doing while in Europe. You see, there is evidence that Rizal had a knack for spending money on lotteries, social parties (you expect people to attend such event in ordinary clothes? Of course not! Guests are expected to attend in tailored suits which can cost quite a deal), going to bars (even nowadays, nobody goes to a bar for a shot of drink for free!) and visiting bordellos (there’s a rumor that one of the girls mentioned to be one of his flings in his biography is a prostitute). Nice nosebleed you gave him, Inday! Go girl!

    Kiko Says:

In case you didn’t know, he used Latin and Spanish to get to the heart of the problem. And he loved Tagalog and all the other languages of the Philippines. Oh and the Philippines does not have a Filipino dialect. Rather, The country has several languages with their different dialects. He loved his language. he just didn’t use it for those books.

You’re bad at this. you even spelled Latin and Spanish wrong.

As far as I can remember.. It’s not Dr. Jose Rizal who said that statement to us.. It was the late President Manuel L. Quezon and he is the “Ama ng Wikang Filipino”

[...] and even slightly forced. Her quips aren’t as witty as true comedy should be. One joke reveals how little she understands Rizal, which, like the others, clearly assumes anyone Inday talks to is dumber than [...]

    shady Says:

You’re right Stellify, Inday’s quips as you has mentioned, might not be a true comedy; however, its just amusing to hear that a person like her could speak such English….

Shady, its neither halimaw, nor hayop… its mabaho at malansang isda… two adjectives that described a fish… kasi kung hayop yun, walang adjective na nagdescribe rito, thus making the sentence not parallel… besides, hayop na nga ung isada dodoblehin pa ba nya…

    heheh!
    enjoy natin ung joke!
    nanggugulo lang… =)

Inday, Jose Rizal wrote those two novels in Spanish because he wanted to catch the attention of the Spaniards whom he was criticizing for their erroneous ways.

    John James Palacio Says:

Mr.Joey Pascual, I am going against what you have said…

Remember that Rizal’s primary reason of writing his two novels was to awaken the Filipinos to stand for their rights and to revolt against the Spaniards: not to awaken the Spaniards themselves as how you proudly but stupidly criticized Inday…

Maybe we have to check what we know first before commenting…

    Inday is right!!!
