Birthday Picture

Birthday na ni Junior at dumalo sa handaan ang mga kamag-anak ng Montemayor family sa bahay nila. Picture taking na at tinawag ni Mr. Montemayor si Inday para magpapakuha ng litrato.
Amo: Inday, pwede bang makisuyo? Pakuha lang kami ng litrato. Gamitin mo itong Sony Cybershot DSC-S700 ko. Ready to go na yan, press mo lang yung button sa ibabaw. (mukhang pinagmamayabang ng amo ang bago nyang digital camera sa mga kamag-anak).
Iniabot nya ang camera kay Inday at pumesto na sila.
Inday: Ok, compress a bit on the right please… that’s good… hold it. (Pinindot ni Inday ang shutter) Got it!
Amo: Ok ba? Patingin nga.
Lumapit ang amo kay Inday at nireview nila ang litrato. Mukhang na-dismaya ang amo sa kuha ni Inday.
Inday: Hmmm. I guess this camera is not suited for low light settings like we have here. At high ISO rating, there’s too much noise and detail smearing from aggressive noise suppression. The default evaluative metering mode of this camera tends to underexpose shots and the result lack sharpness. There’s also visible vignetting at the widest angle of the zoom range.
Inday: Wait here I have an idea.
Umalis saglit si Inday…
Amo: Ahh guys pwesto ulit… kinuha lang ata ni Inday ang tripod kasi medyo naging blurry yung picture. Hintayin na lang naten siya.
Dumating si Inday bitbit ang kanyang Canon EOS 40D na camera.
*Oooooohhhh* *Wowww* Namangha ang mga bisita sa camera ni Inday. Tinago na lang ni sir ang kanyang mumurahing camera sa bulsa nya.

Di ko rin alam siguro gagawin ko pag may nakita akong maid na may ganyang camera. - manager

Excuse me. I think I need to talk to Inday hahaha.. Inday better get a new DSLR-A350 or DSLR-A700 these are better than Canon.

wow… teka ha, magkano ba ang sweldo ni inday sa montemayor’s family? pano siya nakakabili ng mga ganyang kamahal na gamit??????

fyi, eos 40d is just a semi-pro digital slr camera (a very good one though, nice choice inday). the eos 450d is the entry level dslr camera. mr. montemayor’s sony cybershot dsc-s700 is an old model, low-end, point and shoot camera.
basically the entry level for non-slr cameras and it really does make any semi-pro camera body look like a pro camera. basically, the eos 40d is for people who already know how to use digital slr cameras but still need time to learn before really investing in a pro body camera. from what i know of inday, her eos 40d is simply a backup camera. i believe she might have an eos 1d mark 3 or eos 1ds mark 3 which she bought after she sold me her eos 5d. she most likely just used an eos 40d because a group picture at a birthday party would be a waste of actuations for an eos 1d/1ds.
that said, however, i’m a little disappointed at inday. i always say that good cameras do not a good photographer make. she could have simply moved closer to be able to take better advantage of the camera’s flash. and if that isn’t enough, i believe mr. montemayor’s camera model allows for manual white balance adjustment to compensate for underexposures. as for the vignetting, it shouldn’t be a problem at all. it actually provides an artistic effect to portraits assuming composition is done properly.
